How Long Does Adoption Take?

The adoption process can generally take anywhere from four to nine months to complete. There are a series of documents that must be filed with New York family court and perhaps the surrogate’s courts. These forms are plentiful and packed with detailed legalese. To keep the process moving with as little stress and as much ease as possible, choose a lawyer who is thorough and detail-oriented.
